Shortly after the catastrophe of January 12, 2010, the Haitian people was in a situation of misery where almost all the layers of the population are not even able to provide for their primary needs. This earthquake which causes the death of more than 250,000 people left us a devastated capital and a destroyed town of Carrefour. The population of Carrefour was on its Own, and considering the gravity of this crisis characterized by a shortage of food, water and shelter, everything became a priority to relieve the misery of the families of the community. It is in this context that SEA BOXdecided to help the commune of Carrefour by making a donation to JEBCA of Haiti, of a “Shelterpak” filled of commodity products, clothing and tarps.
On March 10, 2010, the container measuring 20 feet long was already with the customs of Malpasse on the border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti. After following all the procedures such; signing the paperwork and, declaration on the use of the donation, the representatives of the ministry of Economy and finances in Haiti and those of civil protection Bureau released the Container to us without any out of pocket expenses. We have to mention that shipping, transportation and custom fees have been paid by SEA BOX. As of the reception of the container, the committee of JEBCA D’HAITI met to think about the best way of distributing its contents by avoiding any slip. Thus, during the meeting, it was decided to proceed initially to an inventory which will support a balanced distribution of the various products.

This Gesture from SEA BOX made it possible not only to relieve the sufferings of the survivors of the quake, but also to improve the quality of their life, because they faced all kind of Deprivations. The Shelterpak which will be used for mobile clinic will remain a symbol, a memory of the assistance and accompaniment provided by SEA BOX to our community during this difficult period of our history.
